I thought as much, but he didn't seem to agree! He found me down by the docks on the island. Introduced himself by self-describing as a 'pretty big piece of shit', which I'll admit surprised me!

Harry du Bois, apparently. He appears to be new, apparently I am his first inmate! So I suppose it will be a learning experience for us both.

So I have learned! The idea of potentially having to introduce myself to someone new every month strikes me as a little... tiring?

I do wonder why some pairings are temporary and others permanent.
We have no say, as I understand it?

An unpleasant thought. I presume that also means we cannot object to a pairing, should it become permanent?

That seems... unhelpful. Perhaps we might assume the Admiral knows us well enough to avoid bad pairings? It would be unfortunate to be paired with a person who dislikes you. As much as wardens have their own incentives, I can imagine it's difficult if goals do not align.

I'd suppose the Admiral would say it's the warden's job to convince their inmate to graduate.

I'll admit the path does seem unclear. Perhaps the Admiral imagines each route taken will be different, but some rough guidelines would not go amiss.

He's certainly human. I couldn't say the name of his home, but I'd suspect he isn't from Toril.

As names go, it certainly lacks something. Is your warden from 'Earth', then?

He seems well meaning, but I must admit that nearly everything I learn about him gives me pause.

He strikes me as a figure useful to have on your side, but a danger should that change.

I thought you said John helped you? When the ship sank.
